Some of the Wedding Photos

It’s been forever since I finished the India Wedding album for Megan and Sean. You might not even remember this….

My friend Mary Ann’s daughter got married in India to the most wonderful guy, in August of 2007. I offered to scrapbook the photos for Mary Ann. Well, it turned into a very large album, and she’s decided to give it to Megan and Sean next month for their anniversary party. I took photos, but they really are not as lovely as the actual pages.

I learned a lot while making this album. wedding1Our weddings are boring. LOL Plain white, with an accent color. And one day. What’s up with that? The Hindu weddings last DAYS! The bride takes DAYS to get ready, and the colors. Well, the colors. Wow. SO many bright, brilliant wonderful colors. You’ll see. I’ll start posting a few here and a few there. I can’t possibly post all of them at once, there are 60 or so! But today, I’m going to post just a couple today. These are from the 7 steps ceremony. wedding3One photo is of the poem. I hand calligraphied it, as a special page. I really love all of the pages in this album, but this one had a lot of meaning as I was working with all of the photos and figuring out what went where as far as colors. :)

Here’s another one. These are really in no particular order, unfortunately. As I’m writing this and working with these photos again, I’m thinking I need to figure out how to create photo albums wedding2here on my new blog. LOL I have no clue. That would certainly make this sharing much easier.

Stay tuned. I’ll figure that out and share more soon!

photos in the office…

A while back I posted that some of my photographs are hung in the building where I work. Yesterday we had a ping pong tournament (I took 200 photos!) and I finally had a chance to go around and Guestoffice3take some photos of some of my photos on the walls. These are just the ones that are in the guest offices. I couldn’t get more of the offices in because of angles with doorways and such, but it’s truly a rush to see my photos hung in a public place. Again yesterday, someone complimented me on this one, telling me I should enter it in a contest (it hangs on the 3rd guest office and is actually a photo of the gears in one of our test chambers that I took with my macro lens while they were putting the chamber together after we moved.

Guestoffice2The second photo is an ocean scene with 3 pelicans that I took at Rio Del Mar last summer. It is one of my favorite ocean shots. If you live in California, you know that we don’t often get totally clear days like this one!

The third guest office contains a photo of a barn that is probably familiar to many of my regular blog readers as I’ve posted it before and it is actually in my current banner. I thought it made a nice contrast with the wall color. Guestoffice1
Working in an Asian-owned company is a very interesting experience. Everyone is very much into ping pong, and they play ALL OUT. It is really cool to watch. Pingpong1The last time we had a tournament, I was too busy with work to really take many photos, but this time, I was able to organize my day a bit better and managed to take quite a few really cool shots. This is one of my favorites. I love the action in it.

That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by to see what I’m up to, leave me a comment and I’ll be sure to visit you as well. Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned. I’m off to have lunch with an old friend, then get my hair done! Yay me! Fresh highlights!

Happy Mother’s Day!

-Take care.
